A Day Out at Movie World

Just over 24 hours since she landed, Grace was back in the air again. This time, on a rollercoaster, at Warner Brothers' Movie World.

Movie World was a frequent haunt for us as children. On weekends, during school holidays, with friends or family. We have such fond memories of times spent there and remembering them is nostalgic.

Going with childhood friends again this time added another layer to that: now we are the adults taking ourselves out for the day.

So much of going to a theme park is queuing. Although the queues weren't too hectic when we went, they offered us time for conversation: catch ups and jokes and more. Although it had been eight years since we'd all been together, it was so easy to chat and laugh.

We went on coasters big and small, laughed ourselves silly on the water ride and screamed our throats sore on the speediest one. Our stomachs flipped and dropped. We watched the classic stunt show and waved at Scooby Doo riding in the Mystery Inc van. We were very saddened that the Scooby Doo ride - our favourite forever - is out of action until 2025! An iconic ride, which we remember riding 14 times one trip as children.

We ended on a high - literally. A super tall coaster with huge drops and twists. Holding onto tiny handles, fearful and delighted. We left the park as we should: exhausted but satisfied.
